Rieser Lab Meeting
Hobbs Building
December 12, 2000

  • Issue: Integration of visual and auditory information in spatial perception.
  • Next meeting: Everybody bring a research list.
  • Might be worth trying to explore a situation in which we know the illusion of vection is compelling (i.e., in a car on a hill with another next to it or in a train with another train next to it). (All this touches on the "penetrability" issue.)
  • Other possible factors in the illusion of vection: uncertainty, local frame of reference
  • John will probably have a track built (for sliding). We still need to figure out the "floor" issue.
